These warm cinnamon apples will make you feel like you are having an apple pie, but they only take about 10 minutes to prepare and are a healthy sweet treat! These are perfect to add to oatmeal or quinoa for breakfast. You could also pair with a protein source like string cheese or nuts and have a hearty snack or enjoy it as a dessert on a cold winter night!
You will need:
– 3 cups apples, chopped
– 2 Tbsp water
– 1 Tbsp ghee
– 1 Tbsp maple syrup
– ½ tsp cinnamon
– ⅛ tsp sea salt
– ¼ tsp pure vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Add apples and water to a skillet over medium heat and stir occasionally for about 5 minutes, until water is absorbed.
2. Add ghee and stir. Cook for about 5 more minutes, until the apples become soft.
3. Add maple syrup, cinnamon, salt and vanilla and stir until mixed well.
4. Serve!
