If your kids get excited about pizza, they’ll love these dippable veggie-packed calzones! Let them pick out their favorite vegetables to stuff on the inside. 

Ingredients:
1 Pizza dough ball from Harris Teeter or Walmart (get it at the counter. Sometimes you can find whole-wheat dough)

½ onion

1 green pepper

1 teaspoon oil

1 cup shredded low-fat mozzarella cheese

20 slices turkey pepperoni

For dipping sauce:

1 cup crushed tomatoes with basil

Optional: 

Parsley for garnish

Pinch of garlic powder and salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 ℉
  2. Saute the veggies in oil until soft
  3. Roll out pizza dough ; cut into two
  4. Evenly divide cheese, veggies, and turkey pepperoni among among 2 calzones
  5. Fold and score the top with a knife. Sprinkle garlic powder and salt on top
  6. Bake for about 12 minutes or until golden brown
  7. Meanwhile, heat 1 cup of crushed tomatoes with basil in a small pot
  8. Cut each calzone in half and serve with ¼ cup of crushed tomatoes
