Where are our pregnant people at? 🙋‍♀️In the third trimester, we need an extra 450 calories per day to support that growing baby. What better way to get in that calorie boost for the home stretch than with a smoothie?

Listen to your body. If you’re not getting enough calories during your pregnancy, you might feel super fatigued, cranky, and hungry.

OK, let’s talk about what’s in this smoothie and why. Baby’s brain starts to take over his or her temperature regulation and it’s getting groovy around Week 30. Walnuts and seeds are great for supporting baby’s brain development because they have a special Omega-3 fatty acid called DHA. (That’s why a lot of prenatal vitamins advertise “with DHA” on the front label!)

Baby is also depositing 200 mg of calcium a day in his or her little skeleton. Fortified almond milk is a good calcium source for both you and baby.
