The hibiscus plant and its beautiful vibrant red flower are used to make tea. While hibiscus has traditionally been used medicinally, there is not much evidence supporting its use. However, there is a small bit of evidence that hibiscus may be effective in lowering blood pressure. It also may increase absorption of Vitamin B12. Nevertheless, hibiscus makes a delicious and colorful red-purple tea and is often used in mixed drinks. This little carbonated hibiscus infusion is a healthier twist on it’s copycat tropical cocktail. Make it more authentic by adding a charred cinnamon stick!
