At TNT we love to introduce our clients to new healthy foods they may have never heard of before! Amaranth is one of those foods. Amaranth is a whole grain that is a great source of protein, fiber and iron. It is a great option for anyone aiming to live a healthier lifestyle, but especially those with gluten free and vegan diets. There are many variations for cooking it, and one of those is this yummy porridge!

You will need:

  • 1 cup amaranth
  • 2 ½ cups water
  • ½ tsp salt
  1. Bring water and salt to a boil. Add amaranth, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes. 

This will make 4 servings of amaranth, split into 4 servings and top each one with half a banana, ½ cup strawberries and 1 tsp honey
